What This Shows Us
Gideon was afraid when he realized he had seen the angel of the LORD. God told him not to fear, and Gideon built an altar and called it "The LORD is peace." His hard situation had not changed yet, but God's presence steadied him.
Truth to Remember
Peace is found in God's presence, even when the trouble is still there.

Where do you need to receive God's peace today?
Guided prayer
Lord, my mind is restless. I am not asking You to make life easy, but to steady me in Your presence. Give me Your peace today. Amen.
